Smallest fix first
We only paint when polish cannot do it. That saves you money and keeps your original finish. It also means less time without your car.
Scratches and scuffs
Not every scratch needs a paint job. Some polish right out. We check the depth and tell you which fix makes sense.
(000) 000-0000 and describe your scratch
Your car's paint has layers. On top is clear coat. Under that is color, then primer, then bare metal or plastic. A light scratch only marks the clear. That can often be polished away. A deep one cuts down into color or further. That needs a spot refinish. Maybe a hedge got you on a narrow lane off Long Creek Road. Maybe someone dragged a cart along your door at a lot in Mesquite. We check the depth first. Then you hear the options, and what each one costs, before we start. No guessing and no upsell.
The work depends on depth. Here is the full list, and your estimate only shows the pieces your car needs.
We use a paint gauge and a fingernail test. Together they tell us which layer the scratch reached.
The area gets washed and clayed. Grit left on the paint would only make new scratches during polishing.
For light marks, we polish the clear coat level. The scratch fades as the edges smooth out.
Slightly deeper marks may need fine sanding first. Then polish brings the gloss back.
Tiny chips can get a careful dab of matched paint. It keeps rust away and looks tidy.
Deep scratches get sanded, primed and painted in a small area. Color is blended so it does not show.
Plastic bumpers scuff easily. We smooth the plastic, seal it and refinish the scuffed spot.
We look at the area from every angle in bright light. The shine should match the rest of the panel.
You show us the marks, and we check their depth. We explain what each layer means. Then you get a written estimate with the right fix for each scratch. Polish where it works, paint where it has to.
Light marks get polished. Deep ones are prepped and spot refinished in the booth. We keep the work area as small as we can. If a scratch turns out deeper, we call you before changing the plan.
We clean the panel and look closely in good light. Then you look with us, up close and from a few steps back. If anything still catches your eye, we will sort it out before you leave.
We only paint when polish cannot do it. That saves you money and keeps your original finish. It also means less time without your car.
You hear the difference between polish and paint in plain words. Then you decide.
Spot repairs stay spot repairs. We do not paint a whole door when a small area will do.
Bring it in and we will check how deep it goes. You will know the simplest fix before anything gets done.
